Production Steps
The Powder Metallurgy 4-Step Process
From raw elemental powder to fully oil-impregnated precision bushes, every stage is controlled under ISO 9001 quality management protocols.
Forming
Elemental or alloy metal powders are mixed and pressed in precision dies within sophisticated presses, consolidating the mixture into a shape strong enough to handle prior to sintering.
Sintering
Formed compacts are transferred to a sintering furnace to metallurgically bind the particles under controlled atmosphere and temperature, producing the desired shape, porosity and strength.
Sizing
The sintered component is sized or coined to achieve very close final dimensions and high strength.
Oiling
Final components are impregnated with oil, especially for self-lubricating bearings.
Why Powder Metallurgy
Key Advantages of Our Process
Delivering structural strength, cost efficiency and self-lubricating properties unattainable through standard subtractive machining.
97%+ Material Utilisation
Powder metallurgy generates virtually zero chip waste compared to traditional machining, driving down material cost.
Controlled Porosity & Self-Lubrication
Engineered pore structures retain up to 18–25% oil by volume, eliminating external lubrication requirements.
Precision & Repeatability
High-accuracy compaction and coining deliver tight dimensional consistency across high-volume production runs.
Superior Surface Finish
Sintered components achieve smooth bearing surfaces without expensive grinding or polishing operations.
Complex Geometry in One Pass
Form complex internal features, flanges and splines directly during compacting without multi-axis machining.
Tailored Alloy Compositions
Custom elemental blending allows precise tuning of strength, hardness, conductivity and wear properties.
Raw material utilisation- one of the highest efficiency rates achievable in powder metallurgy
Years of powder metallurgy engineering expertise
Skilled workforce across production & quality control
