How They Are Made
Each bush in this range passes through the same four-stage powder metallurgy route, with inspection between stages.
Elemental or alloy metal powders are mixed and pressed in precision dies within sophisticated presses, consolidating the mixture into a shape strong enough to handle prior to sintering.
Formed compacts are transferred to a sintering furnace to metallurgically bind the particles under controlled atmosphere and temperature, producing the desired shape, porosity and strength.
The sintered component is sized or coined to achieve very close final dimensions and high strength.
Final components are impregnated with oil, especially for self-lubricating bearings.
Good surface finishes, precise tolerances, wide alloy production, controlled porosity for self-lubrication or filtration, minimised machining, and up to 97%+ raw material utilisation with fewer rejects.
